So, I took the plunge and bought myself an SSD for my laptop. In my neck of the woods the OCZ Vertex 4 512GB was relatively easy to get, and reasonably priced. My Fujitsu LH772 laptop has a Intel Core i7-3612QM at 2.1 ghz (ahh, sometimes a bit higher too) and 16GB of Corsair RAM.

Dunno if tweaking could help more, but its fast enough for me….
